Delivered by: Aspire2 Education in just 1 academic year (40 study weeks).

Learning will be delivered using a blended (face to face) learning approach and you will be encouraged to engage with your fellow students and tutors in class and via your online learning portal.

You will be supported throughout the process by our great facilitators who are professionally qualified and have industry and academic experience to share with you.

This programme aims to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to provide advanced person-centered support to those with complex needs, respond to change and perform routine clinical tasks and observations in a health and wellbeing context. Graduates will be able to use the transferable skills and knowledge gained to provide high quality health and wellbeing services to those in need and their whanau. Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to identify health conditions and address complex health needs, use models of care to guide their practice, recognise and respond to risks impacting a person with complex needs and undertake practical tasks to support a person with complex needs.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will need to be 18 years or older to apply.

Applicants will need to have completed:

  • The 'New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, Level 3', with strands in either:

    • Health Assistance, or

    • Support Work​​​


  • An equivalent qualification or experience in the health and wellbeing industry. 

Applicants must be proficient in English.

Our courses are taught in English, so you need to be able to read and write well in English to understand the course content and requirements.

Free Training Eligibility: Students must be a New Zealand Citizen, Resident or Australian Citizen. 

Career Pathways

Successful graduates will be awarded the following qualification by New Zealand Qualifications Authority:
New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Advanced Care) (Level 4), worth 120 credits.

Further Education

This qualification builds on the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) with strands in Health Assistance or Support Work.  Successful completion of this course can lead to further study in related health and wellbeing settings, or in leadership and management.

This may include:

New Zealand Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (Mental
Health and Addiction) (Practice/Applied Practice) (Level 5)

at Aspire2 Education.

Employment Pathways

Graduates of this qualification can find employment as a health care assistant, senior caregiver, senior health care assistant, or senior support worker in hospices, or specialised dementia units, aged residential care, or home and community support settings.
